Meow Parlour, a cat cafe in New York City
Meow Parlour is a New York City cat cafe where you can rent time (30min – 5 hours) to hang out with adoptable, free roaming cats. Enjoy complimentary WI-FI, while you work with a purring ball of fur on your lap. Around the corner you can visit Meow Parlour Patisserie for snacks and beverages to bring into the cat room. Co-Founder of Meow Parlour, Christina Ha, is also the head Pastry Chef at the Patisserie and a graduate of Institute of Culinary Education Pastry & Baking Program and the Culinary Management Program. Come hungry and expect catified treats!
All the Meow Parlour cats are available for adoption through KittyKind. KittyKind is an all volunteer, no-kill rescue group in New York City. Their mission is to reduce the number of abandoned and homeless animals in. By adopting through Meow Parlour and KittyKind, you are adding to the outstanding average of 600 cats that are adopted yearly. KittyKind is devoted to creating furrever homes for their cats. All patrons interested in adopting must fill out an application, undergo an interview, and have a home inspection prior to taking their new family member home.
Meow Parlour has special children’s hours to facilitate a learning environment (with a chaperon), while limiting the amount of attention given to the cats. Kitties typically create their own schedules, but to maximize your cat time Meow Parlour suggests scheduling your visit within the first hours of opening and in the evening around 6pm. The times in between are popular for cat naps, if you prefer a relaxing ambiance. Meow Parlour even offers fun events including:
- Yoga & Kitties class, a 45 min Vinyasa flow ($20)
- Cat Toy Making Workshop ($20)
- Cat Behavior and Wellness class ($25)
- You can also rent out the cat club for a private event
